Mildred Marline Heard Peeks was born May 6,1935 in Heard County Georgia to the late John Thomas Heard and Julie Bell Rome Heard. Mrs. Mildred Peeks, 89, of Cartersville, GA passed on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Piedmont Healthcare Cartersville. She married the late John Reuben Peeks, and five children were born to this union; they were married sixty-one years before his passing.
Mildred was affectionately known as “Mil Mil” to her grandchildren, “Momma and Mother” to her children. Mildred really enjoyed cooking, family, and watching her “Westerns.” Her most favorite hobby was shopping and loved fashion; it was a must that she was coordinated from head to toe. Once she fell ill and went to stay with her daughter, she loved looking out the window at the cars passing by. It brought her peace and happiness in her last days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; son, Greg and daughter Julie.
Left to cherish her memories are her children Jeff Peeks (Alpha), Sandra Williams, Anessia Loyal (Carlen) bonus daughter Iva Banks, brother Ernest Dean (Linda), eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law Claude Peeks, two sisters-in-law Alma Heard and Shirley Henderson, and a host of special nieces, nephews, and friends.
