After a long, glorious, wonderful Sunday of splendid praise and joyous fellowship with friends and family, Minnie Lou Darby Carson laid down to rest and woke up in God’s glory! Minnie was born to the late William Bert Darby Jr. and Eva Mae Johnson Darby on March 2, 1949.  She gave her life to God at the age of 16.  She was a good and faithful member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ where she enjoyed working with the youth department, drafting and directing numerous plays and programs.  She was a licensed as an Evangelist Missionary and a part of the Faith Temple Missionary’s Circle, later Mothers Board and Assistant to District Missionary Tucora Bishop.  “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…” Ecclesiastes 9:10

Minnie’s early education was in the Bartow County School System.  She graduated from Summer Hill High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1966.  In 1964, Minnie Darby and Nathaniel Carson’s friendship and relationship established by God came forth and blossomed.  They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1967 for a beautiful duration of 54 years.  To this union, God blessed them with three lovely children, Nathaniel Carson Jr, Noel and Nicholas.

Minnie was a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. She loved to teach and watch her family learn and grow. She had a huge, humble heart and dutifully served others. She was very creative in floral design, crafting and beautiful penmanship. She thoughtfully gave the most precious handmade custom gifts that always left a lasting impression on your heart that would never go away. She was a sweet, quiet, loving, patient person who was at all times the voice of reason, comforting, encouraging and consoling so many.

Minnie served under her husband the late Pastor Elder Nathaniel Carson Sr. of Miracle Valley Church of God in Christ in Dalton GA from 2004 until February 2022.  She then served as church Mother under Pastor C. Anthony Jefferson August 2022 until God called her home.

Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, William Bert Darby Jr. and Eva Mae Johnson Darby, her husband Nathaniel Carson Sr., her son Nick Carson, and her brother Dwayne Darby.  She leaves to cherish and to forever lift up her legacy, her son Nate Carson of Acworth GA, her daughter Noel Carson Hill (Darren) of Newnan GA, her grandson Isaiah Carson, her granddaughters, Jasmine, Tacarra, Sierra, Alexis and Tianna, her great-grands: Mariah, Taylen, Jamari, special great-grands Brielle Jenkins and Bryden Coffey, her daughter in laws, Patsy and Cecelia, her brothers, Larry Darby of Emerson GA (Charlotte), Dwight Darby of Emerson GA, William Bert Darby III of Emerson GA, Frank Darby of Emerson GA, her sisters, Erma Griffin Chattanooga TN, Sandra Canty of Emerson GA, Maria Darby of Emerson GA, her sister in laws Glenda and Trece, special sister Josephine Gardner of Cartersville GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends, her church families of Miracle Valley Church of God in Christ, Headquarters District, and Western Georgia Jurisdiction.
