Emily Ann Robinson was born January 9, 1935 in Cartersville, Georgia . She was the youngest of William and Edith Smith's two daughters.Throughout her life she was surrounded by great admiration and love. Emily graduated from Summer Hill High School in 1954. She married her late husband, Ralph Robinson Sr. on November 3, 1956. During their union they created five beautiful children: Shelia, Janice (James Jones Sr.), Ralph Jr. (Carla Robinson), Eric (Valerie Robinson), and Valeria. She devoted her life to raising her children and loved them very much. She was employed by Union Carbide/ First Brand Corp. until she retired and then joined Walmart where she worked for several years.

Granny, as she was called by many, was known for her green thumb and visitors could always count on an array of greenery when they visited her on Robinson Loop. She loved playing games on the computer, cooking and watching television. You could always find her waiting for any of her fifteen grandchildren with a snack and a hug when they got off the school bus. Her willingness to care for others made her adored by many.

Mother Emily accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church under Reverend J.C. Coppock. She served her church as an Usher and as the head of the Hospitality Committee for many years.

Emily Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Robinson; parents, William and Edith Smith; and sister, Mary Ellen Smith.
