“Bud” as he was known to all that loved him, was born on June 29, 1944 to the late James Alfred Benham, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Morris.  He was a beloved father, brother, husband grandfather and uncle. “To know Bud was to love Bud”

In the early 1970’s Bud married the late Shelia Scott and in July of 1976, their daughter Jamie was born.  In 1984 Bud married the late Phyllis Benham and in January of 1985, their son Trey was born.  He was a family man and very proud of his children and their accomplishments.  Although he only had two biological children, he would always say, “I don’t have no grandchildren, they are all my children.”

Bud was employed with New Riverside Ochre (Dellinger Management) where he worked faithfully and diligently.  He retired after forty-one years of dedicated service in 2018. The Dellinger’s loved Bud and he loved them.

Bud was well known around the Cartersville community, you would often see him driving his white truck, stopping and talking to everyone.  He was a man of jovial greetings and a pleasant smile.  Bud was a friend to many and a stranger to none.

Left to cherish his precious memory and jovial spirit are his two children, Jamerica “Jamie” Hodges and James “Trey” Benham, III both of Carterville, Georgia; brother, Robert “Bobby” Benham of San Marcos, Texas; six grandchildren, CPL DeVonte’ “DJ” Kennemore (Samalia) of Fort Hood, Texas, Ebony Toland of Marietta, Georgia, Shea Benham, Joseph Kennemore, De’Mari Benham and Courtney Hodges all of Cartersville, Georgia; four great-grandchildren, DJ, Kameron, Ariell and Xiar; two stepchildren, Tracy Johnson of Marietta Georgia and Teddy Slocum (Tequila) of Huntsville, Alabama; nieces; nephews; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dellinger and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Collier and family; and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.
