Mr. James Andrew Carter, 68, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:00PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1020 Mission Rd. SW, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service , so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. However, the service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Mr. James Andrew Carter was called home on Thursday April 29, 2021 after enduring many health issues.James Andrew Carter was born on September 23, 1952 in Cartersville Georgia to James Monroe Carter and the late Martha Alease Jones Carter. He was affectionately called “Andrew” by his family. His friends gave him he nickname of “Tator Red”. Andrew was educated in the Bartow County School System. In his early years he played basketball and football. Andrew was employed with Goodyear Mills for many years. He also worked in janitorial services at Lockheed, and Springdale and Sunbridge Nursing home until his retirement. His favorite past time was watching television especially Judge Judy every evening.
Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Alease Jones Carter; grandparents; several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Andrew leaves to cherish his memories his long-term companion, Barbara Richards; daughter, Davita Carter; son, Tyrone Carter; siblings, Eddie (Gail) Carter, Freda Carter, Melanie Carter, Lemuel Robinson; aunts, Velma Slaughter and Jewell (Luther) Jackson; uncles, Wilson Carter, Sammy Carter, Elder Elijah (Johnnie) Carter; ten grandchildren, ten, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
