Mr. William Perkins Obituary

Mr. William Franklin Perkins, 76, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 22, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 3:00pm at Providence Cemetery, 165 Old Tennessee Rd. NE, Cartersville, GA 30121. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 7:00PM - 8:00PM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be admitted to the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. However, the service will be Live-Streamed.

William Franklin (Frank) Perkins, was born on March 12, 1945 in Paulding County to the late Otis and Rosetta Burr Perkins. He departed this earthly life on April 22. 2021. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ethelrine Reese, Mae Florence Arnold, Velma Jackson, Eddie B. Perkins, James Melvin Perkins and grandson, Andre Perkins.

He was a member of Greater New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church where he was a part of the Men of Destiny Ministry and known by his Pastor W.J.E.Coombs as the "coolest member". He was a lover of music and was one of the founding members of the Bartow Community Mass Choir. Frank worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan; Goodyear Tire in Cartersville, Georgia, and later retired from Cartersville Medical Center. Frank was known by many as "Big Dogg" and was always the center of attention wherever he went. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing spades and "making it happen" with his nieces, nephews and special friends. He as a sharp dresser who loved his colorful wardrobe, his Fedora hats, and Stacey Adams shoes to match. He was loved by many and truly loved living the life.

Frank leaves to cherish loving memories to his sons; William Rodney (Cleovra) Perkins and William Franklin Perkins of Detroit, Michigan; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Cofield of Cartersville, GA, Alma Heard of Rockmart, GA., Emma (Perry) Cooley, Sr. of Cartersville, GA and Margaret (Sammy) McClure, Sr. of Rockmart, GA; sister-in-law, Lucille Perkins of Rockmart, GA; and a special friend, Richard Ellison;  and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
