Mrs. Alice Larkin Obituary

Mrs. Alice Faye Elliott-Larkin, 79, of Decatur, Georgia, formerly of Kingston, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022.  

Funeral service for Mrs. Larkin will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, 11:30 A.M. at Queens Chapel Independent Methodist Church, 105 Johnson Street, Kingston, Georgia 30145.  She will lie in-state from 10:30 A.M. Interment will take place Monday, August 15, 2022, 1:30 P.M. at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114.

Alice Faye was born in Kingston, Georgia on June 25, 1943, to Robert Elliott and Bessie Alene McClure Elliott. Alice Faye graduated from Summer Hill High School and enlisted in the army where she served three years. After the service, where she was honorably discharged, she continued on to college where she received her associate degree in Administrative Science. She Married while in college. Alice Faye worked in her local church and volunteered with the Civil Rights Movement. She worked in the civil service division until her early disability retirement. Alice Faye worked in real estate and sold and flipped houses. In her younger days, she was an avid tennis player, ran track, and loved to party with her younger sister. Alice could be stubborn at times, but was quick to help anyone in need. She loved her family. She always attended family gatherings and church functions as long as she was physically able. If you called her, you were going to be prayed for before you got off the phone .She had a special relationship with all her nieces and nephews. She was always so grateful for her Miracle child April, whom she had at the age of 39 years old. Her joy and everyone knew it was her grandbaby, Ava.

Alice Larkin was the Co-Pastor of God’s Prayer and Evangelist Church with her husband Felton Larkin. She helped many ministries get started and was well known for her missionary task. She was affiliated and showed support for the late Kathleen Bradley ministries, Habakkuk Christian Ministries, Evangelist Shirley Carter, and Pastor Shelby and Elder Eugene Poole. She served the Lord and his people faithfully. Faye would offer love and prayer to whoever needed it. She was an encourager. Alice Faye loved the Lord, Family, Travel, and good Food. She was instrumental in getting her brothers and sister saved. Alice Fay helped many of her brothers and sisters with her prayers, love, advice, and money.

Alice Faye is preceded in death by her late husband Pastor Felton Mansfield Larkin, whom she was married to on September 21, 1967, for 47 years, she also precedes both her parents Robert Elliott and Bessie Alene McClure Elliott, Sister Jennie Bell Stewart, brothers Billy Earl McClure and Lee Shield Elliott.

Left to cherish Alice’s precious memories, are daughter April Lynnel Larkin, Granddaughter Ava Lynn Small, her brothers Bobby (Linda) Elliott, Robert (Mary) Elliott, Herschel (Lavinia) Elliott, Troy T. Elliott, William (Darlene) Elliott, and sister Jeannie Elliott Pitts (Warren) Lovingood,, A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
