Mrs. Audrie Candis Williams, 89 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2019.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 106 FireTower Road, Cassville, Georgia 30123. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery, Cassville, Georgia 30123.
Audrie Candis Mitchell Harper was born in Joliet, Illinois on August 19, 1930 to the late Warren and Maude Williams. She was raised in Biloxi, Mississippi but raised her family in Trenton, New Jersey. Audrie accepted Christ at an early age. She taught reading and writing for the Board of Education in Trenton, New Jersey for over 25 years, retiring in 1995.
She loved to sew, crochet and sing in the church choir. Audrie participated in the Advent Sunday School Bible Study for many years. When her health started to decline Audrie relocated to Georgia in November 2017. Audrie worshipped with the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church family. She was a true child of God and was a faithful Christian to the end.
Audrie was preceded in death by husbands, Cornelius Mitchell, Fred Walker and Nathaniel Harper; three sons, Karl Mitchell, Dwayne Mitchell and Alan Mitchell; three brothers, Gerald Williams, George Williams and Charles Huddlestone.
She leaves to cherish her memory; children, Joy Love (Bruce) of Cartersville, Georgia, Dale Mitchell (Liz) of Trenton, New Jersey and Iris Smith of Virginia Beach, Virginia; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Liz Webster of Maryland and Amanda Seay of New Jersey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
