Mrs. Betty Jo (Hyatt) Carson

Mrs. Betty Jo Carson, 71, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Cartersville Medical Center.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 North Erwin Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted to the service. However the service will be LIVE-STREAMED.

Mrs. Betty Jo Carson was born in Bartow County on May 4, 1949 to the late Eddie B. and Bessie Lou Hyatt. She received her education at Summer Hill High School. Betty was a faithful member of the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. For more than 30 years she ran a state certified daycare for many families of the community. She could often be found listening to her favorite song, Goin' Up Yonder.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Betty is survived by a loving husband, Jesse James Carson, Sr.; two children, Jesse James Carson, Jr., and Samantha Carson; two grandchildren, Kelly Troy Harris, Jr., and Jessica Harris; two sisters, Margie McClain, and Emma Henderson (Wayne); one brother, Charlie Hyatt (Brenda), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
