On June 21, 1942, the Listenbee family celebrated the birth of their baby girl, Lee Ella, born in Pontotoc, Mississippi to the late Charles Ohno Listenbee and Cassie Lee
Miller Listenbee. Lee was the second of nine children born to this union. Lee was educated in the Pontotoc School System, attending Ecru Elementary and graduating from Pontotoc High School.

Lee met and married the late Mr. Anthony George Lang and to that union Stephen Lang and George Antony Lang were born. During their marriage, they traveled a lot due to his military work. Being the oldest daughter, she helped care for several of her siblings. After her husband passing, Lee moved to Boston, MA with her sister Jettie Listenbee, but suddenly move to Seattle, WA. While there she met and married the late Mr. William Reid and to that union twin boys were born, David and Dana Lee Reid. During their marriage, they traveled a lot due to his work as District Manager for South Central Bell. Lee traveled to Beloit Wisconsin, Albuquerque New Mexico, Boston Massachusetts, Seattle Washington, Panama Florida and Sacramento California.

She studied to become a Cosmetologist and retired after thirty-five years. As we all know, beauticians meet and befriend many people and Lee was no different. In 2000 Lee moved to Cartersville worked for the Bartow Transit. She joined the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Michael Sutton. Lee was very active in the Bartow Community; visiting the Senior Citizen Center, walking around her neighborhood, and taking care of people and helping in the church. Lee Ella Reid leaves this earth having fulfilled many objectives, leaving more she wanted to achieve. She charged and challenged her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren to continue her work to speak to all, learn from all, and care for those GOD has chosen to be placed in their path. Lee Ella Reid did exactly that and more.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Gwen, brothers: Lonnie Charles and Robert Listenbee.
Left to cherish her memory, four sons, Steven Lang, George Lang, David Reid and Dana Reid; four siblings, Emma Zinn, Travis Listenbee, John Listenbee and Jettie
Porcha(James) ; four grandchildren, Infinity Shell, Cassie Lee Reid, Anthony Lang and Zahira Fray; two great grandsons, Bently and Dre and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and dear friends, Joan Williams and Lillie Nations and others.
