Mrs. Martha Ann (Barton) McConnell

Mrs. Martha McConnell, aka "Mamie", 71 of Kingston, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia. The body will lie in state in the chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, 790 Indian Mounds Road SE, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Martha was born on February 8, 1947 to the late James "Bo Daddy" and Elizabeth "Dibby" Barton in Kingston, Georgia. She was educated in the Bartow County School System and graduated from Summer Hill High School with the Class of 1964. Mamie as she was affectionately known as accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Kingston, Georgia. After graduating school Mamie met the love of her life James "JD" McConnell and they travelled. JD was a member of the United States Army and this is the reason for the many adventures throughout their travels. After the military experience, they settled in Atlanta, Georgia and started their family. Martha worked with the United States Postal Service and retired after 30 plus years of service.

Martha enjoyed spending time with her siblings, children and all her family. 

She leaves to cherish her memory , a loving husband, James "JD" McConnell of 44 years; children, Tammy, Stacey (Eric), Deirdre, Trinia, Courtney and DeCorian (Lowell); siblings Betty James, Grace Grimes, Gladys Barton; step-children, Teresa, Orlando, Rickey, Yolanda, Antonio and David; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one uncle, Henry (Bertha) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
