The body will lie-in-state in the church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Brooke was born on April 15, 1990 to the late John Douglas Shelnutt Jr. and Charmon Lovelle Brand Shelnutt.  She received her early education in Rockmart, Georgia at the First Presbyterian Church and Eastside Elementary School.  After an untimely death of her beloved father, Brooke and her mother moved to Cartersville where she attended Cartersville Elementary, Middle, and High School.  Brooke was an excellent student. She served on the Colorguard team. Brooke became bored with the public-school system, so she decided to complete her high school classes by getting her GED at Jefferson State College.  Upon completion of that she returned to Georgia. Brooke and her mother both attended Everest College together in Marietta, Georgia.  Brooke received her Medical Administrator Degree. Then after did her Medical Internship at a private firm in Cartersville, Georgia.

Brooke was a people person that enjoyed working in customer service and retail.  Brooke loved people and she worked many years in the restaurant field as a server. Cracker Barrell, Country Pride, and Applebees are a few, but it is Cracker Barrell and Applebees that holds the most memories of Brooke, as she adored her regulars that would visit her every week.  She had many that requested just her as their server.

Brookes main hobbies included hanging out with friends, swimming, going to the beach, especially Bartow Beach, and just laying around poolside somewhere, just enjoying life.  She enjoyed music and being around her family.  Brooke had a saying, friends become “our chosen family.”  She truly believed that you do not have to be blood to be family. She enjoyed and loved all people.  She was also willing to offer help whenever she could.

Brooke was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Ka’tice Rena, on Jan 19, 2009, as well as a handsome son John-Kayden Damarius on June 9, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her Father, John Douglas Shelnutt, Jr.; Grandparents, John Douglas Shelnutt, Sr., Herman Leon Brand, and Charlotte Brand; and Great Grandmother Mary Patton.

Brookes memory will forever remain in the hearts of her ever Loving and Devoted Mother, Charmon Lovelle Shelnutt; Daughter, Ka’tice Rena Jones; Son, John-Kayden Damarius Shelnutt; Other Father, Patrick Buffaloe; Brothers, Austin Clay Buffaloe, and Collin Patrick Buffaloe; Grandmother, Joan Burtnett; Other Grandparents, Sherman and Patricia Broadnax; Aunts, Amanda Brand-Fuentes (Uncle Dan), Julie Fee (Uncle Scott), Jennifer Ogle (Uncle Richard), Jason Shelnutt (Aunt Stacey), Chris Buffaloe (Aunt Shannon), Randy and Melissa Riddle, Stephanie Buffaloe, and Alisa Nolan-Caruthers (Uncle Rick); Special Aunt, Linda Brand Duke and Special Uncle, Nate Sanders;  Godparents to Katice and John-Kayden, Melvin and Mary Alice Johnson; and a host of other cousin’s relatives and friends.  Special Acknowledgement to Amanda Passmore, someone very down and dear to Brooke and her Mothers Heart.
