Ms. Roberta Alexanderia Jones, 96 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1 Mount Olive Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in-state in the church from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, 790 Indian Mounds Road, Cartersville, GA 30120. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street.
Roberta Alexanderia Jones was born September 3, 1923 to the late John Henry and Emma Jones. Mother Jones transitioned to her Eternal Home on February 12, 2020. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. Later she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at Faith Temple Church ofGod In Christ under the leadership of Elder Simon Shuman. In her later years she served under Elder Eddie Bohannon at New Beginning COGIC.Her dedication led her to serve under Bishop John Blunt at Greater NewLife Christian Center COGIC, where she was ordained Mother of the church. Mother Jones was a Prayer Warrior and served faithfully as long as her health permitted. She had several jobs before accepting employment at Union Carbide, and retired after many years of dedicated service. After retiring Mother Jones found happiness in gardening, baking, spending time with grand and great grand children. She also enjoyed dressing to impress and keeping her home in immaculate condition.
Roberta was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Joe Jones; brothers ,Robert Lewis, Lindsey, and Clarence; three sisters, Marie, Rebecca and Elmer.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Sinclair Livsey (Samuel); one son Horace Lee Jones Sr. (Ruth); five grandchildren, Phillis, Labrome, Rodney, Tabetha and Horace Jr.(Brandy); five great grands: Allen Micheal, Jackie, Ary, Keira and Rickia; seven great great grands ; special friends, Hattie Ruth Hill, Tracey Knowles Mitchell, Bennie Weems, Maxine Weems , Mother Perrella Hines and Elaine Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
