Mother Nellie Pearl Goggins, 78 of Cartersville,Georgia passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 1:00P.M. at Euharlee Baptist Church, 1103 Euharlee Road SW, Euharlee, Georgia 30145. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00P.M. (Noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, 165 Old Tennessee Road NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Nellie Pearl Turner Goggins, 78 passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Friday, July 21.2023.
Nellie was born March 11, 1945 in Taylorsville, Georgia to the late John Walter Turner and Nellie Mae Anthony Turner. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Georgia. Later in life she moved to Michigan and joined Coleman Temple Church of God In Christ. When she moved back to Georgia she joined New Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, where she was installed on the Mother Board, where she served until her health began to fail.
Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Nellie Turner; brothers, Carlton, Woodrow and Wiley; sisters, Henrietta and Willie Bee; and one son, Osborne Vernon Goggins, Jr.; grandson, LeTerrance Goggins.
She leaves to cherish her memory; children, Bobby (Velma) Turner, Paula Turner, and Mary Goggins all of Cartersville, Georgia; siblings, Trunettie Talbert of Cartersville, Georgia, Walter (Annie) Turner of Saginaw, Michigan, Christine Moore of Kennesaw, Georgia, Bettye (Bennie) Batts of Saginaw, Michigan, Fred Turner of Cartersville, Georgia and John (Lisa) Turner of Cartersville, Georgia; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one God daughter, Latisha Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that loved her.
