Mr. Oscer Lee Peterson, 77 of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at WellStar Cobb Austell surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00A.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the chapel from 10:00A.M. until the hour of service. The service will be LIVE-STREAMED.The family will receive friends on Friday,January 19, 2024 from 6:00P.M. - 7:00P.M. at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

Oscer Lee Peterson was born December 5, 1946 to the union of Willie Edward Lee Moses Malachi Peterson and Rosie Lee Peterson in Indianapolis, IN. Oscer passed away Thursday January 11, 2024 at the age of 77. Oscer accepted Christ at an early age as well as later in life when he joined the International New Vision Ministries and served under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Stewart.

He graduated from the Covert Michigan Public School system and moved to Chicago where he began working in environmental services at Nabisco (Kraft). He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Chicago and was welcomed back with open arms to resume his position at Nabisco.

In 1976, he married his lovely wife, Linda. Although they agreed upon the dissolution of that marriage in 1988, what God has joined together, let no man put asunder and they happily remarried in 2010.

After proudly working for Nabisco for 44 years, Oscer also retired in 2010 and looked forward to spending his retirement years spending time with his family as well as doing what he truly loved,

fishing and hunting.

Oscer was proceeded in death by both parents: Willie Edward Lee Moses Malachi Peterson and Rosie Lee Peterson; brothers, Timothy Peterson, Benjamin Peterson and Clarence Elijah Peterson as well as a grandson Preston Billings V.

Oscer leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving wife, Linda; three sons, Preston, Morio and Qawwee; one daughter, Jameelah (Jovan); fourteen grandchildren, sixteen, great grandchildren; three brothers, Willie Rufus Peterson (Salih) (Rasmiyah), Charles Peterson (Joyce), Ulysses Ray Peterson (Linda); one sister, May Frances Herring and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
