Pastor John Fields Obituary

Pastor John Willie Fields, 85, of Rome, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. 

A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11:00AM at Cassville Cemetery,  Chunn Facin Road, Cassville, Georgia.

John Willie Fields was born on April 9, 1935 to the late Willie Green Fields and Nicie Lee (Jackson) Lewis in Midville,Georgia in Burke County. He was educated in the Burke County School System. He met and married the late Geraldine (Long) Fields it was a union that would last 65 years until her death in 2017. At an early age John Willie gave his Life to God and was called by God to Minister and Pastor.   He held several positions and made it his mission to Preach to as many people as possible.He had a great passion for reaching those who did not know The Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 

He touched so many lives; He pastored at The New Testament Holiness Church, and Co-Pastored at Pure Holiness House of Prayer Church in Tampa,Florida. Pastor John Willie traveled all over the south, working with other churches doing Tent Revivals and hosting street meetings. The work that he did for the Lord, speaks for itself ,for it changed peoples lives and had many accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior giving their lives to Christ. Some becoming Ministers ,Pastors, Co-Pastors and Preachers themselves .

John worked at the Cartersville Chemical plant for many years, later retiring at TMR Metal Recycling Plant. His favorite thing to do was Preaching Gods word, and working in the garden until his health failed.Pastor Fields favorite song was Power Lord!

He is preceded in death by his wife; sons, Johnny Ray Fields and Garfield Long; daughter infancy; boys infancy ; brother James Fields ; sister , Mary Jackson; brother Charley Fields; and sister-in-law, Ruby Mae Fields. 

He Leaves to cherish his memories: Sons, Lamar Fields (Jeanette) Tampa FL., Tommy Fields (Charlene) Tampa FL., Clifford Fields Tampa FL.; Daughters, Gloria Bryant (Terry) ,Rome GA., Regina McIntyre (Will)  Chattanooga TN, Laura Phillips (Chris) Chattanooga TN.; Sister, Georgia Lee King (Lewis) , South Carolina ,Frances Thomas, Augusta,GA.;Sister in Law ,Mary Fields of Augusta ,GA.; Grandchildren, Sherry Fields, Tyrone Bryant (Carla ),Derrick Fields( Denise ) , Lakishia Russell( Kiin), Lamisha Adams (Jarvis), Jody Davis , Latonio Fields (Davina ), Johnny Fields Jr. Darnisha Pettaway (Paul), Kevin Johnson(Lamonica ), Demetrius Johnson (Shavonne ) , Zariyah Davis (Ray) , Kenyal Fields( Antione) , Lakeidra Davis( Antonio ), Tommy Fields Jr. Stacey Bryant(Cindy), Allen Johnson (Holly), Rachel Fields (Daryl), Latisha Winston(Pattrell),  Chris Phillips Jr. (Diamond ), Felica Fields, Jeremiah Fields, John Fields, Heaven Fields, Kayla Fields, Ajai Fields and Malachi Fields; sixty-eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
