Patrick Lee Wells

Mr. Patrick Lee Wells, 52 of Kingston, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 1, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 12:00P.M. (Noon) at Church at Liberty Square, 2001 Liberty Square Drive NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. Interment will follow in Queens Chapel Cemetery, 74 Johnson Street, Kingston, Georgia 30145. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 6:00P.M. - 8:00P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home , 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. On Saturday, February 27, 1971 Daisy and Raymond Wells were blessed with another son, Patrick Lee Wells, born in Rome, Georgia. Affectionately called Lee by his family and friends.  He graduated from Adairsville High School and was a member of New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Kingston, Georgia.  He was skilled in maintenance and used those skills to support several local companies.

Lee met the love of his life Donyale Wilkey at Shaw Industries.  In order to get her attention, he walked up to her and asked, “Do I know you? You look like a girl I went to school with named Tracy Wilkey”.  Donyale playing hard to get, replied, “You do not know me” and walked off.  A few days later he asked if she knew Lynn Wilkey who sold pizzas.   She told him that was her uncle.  From that point a beautiful friendship developed, then dating, and that started their love story. Patrick married Donyale on August 2, 2009 at New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. 

Lee was a man who knew no strangers.  He was a “Jack of all trades and master of none.”  He used his skills and know-how to help anyone he could.  Lee loved and supported his family.  

He doted on his children and wife and fiercely protected them.  Lee loved his boots, hats, hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, drag racing, and horses.  If he stopped to speak with you the conversation could range from the best way to grill a steak, politics, or God.  His talks usually ending with a joke or words of encouragement.

  Lee is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Lee Wells; brother, Marcus Lynn Wells; and a brother –in-law, Dexter Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a Loving and devoted wife, Donyale Wells; children, Raymond Wells, Patrick Wells Jr.,Daisy Alexandria Wells, Darius Bryant, and Leola Bryant;

Grandchildren, Gaia Bryant,and Moon Bryant; mother, Daisy Wells;  siblings, Earnestine Jones, Gerald Todd (Tia) Wells, Kingston, GA; Steven (Jessica) Wells, Adairsville, GA; Kendra Wells, Cartersville, GA; bonus brother, Antonio Williams, Peoria, AZ; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
