Ralph Davis, Sr. was born on January 22, 1948 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Willie “Bill” Davis and Dollie Mae Lighten Davis. He graduated from Summer Hill School.
Ralph joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed him. He loved the Lord and was glad to be in his service. Ralph was spiritually employed, working around the church in the capacity of a handyman. After thirty -five years of service, Ralph retired from GoodYear as a Plant Supervisor.
Needing to fill his days with something to do, he accepted a part-time job with J.C. Penney in the Janitorial Services Department. Ralph had a passion for gardening, fishing, watching basketball, baseball, westerns, soap operas and going to the flea markets. He often quoted “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.” He purchased a lot of his lawn equipment from the various flea markets and got some really good stuff.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife ,Diane Davis; parents, Willie and Dollie Mae Davis; brothers, Willie Davis Jr. and Bobby Davis; sisters, Sarah Davis Livsey, and Daisy M. Davis Garnigan.
He leaves cherished memories to his children, Ralph Davis Jr., Frederick (Shirlene) Davis, Gentry (Margo) Davis, Brandon (Levetra) Davis, Ronald (Tracy) Bell, and Miranda (Fredrick) Jenkins; one sister, Mary Safell; and a loving mother-in-law, Geraldine Darling; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
