Mr. Robert Lee Knox Lindley, affectionately known as "Bobby" was born June 14, 1934 in Acworth, Georgia to the late Joh Frank Knox and Delia Ann Lindley. He was educated in the Cobb County School System. Bobby started working various jobs in his younger years, where he developed his impeccable work ethics. He was employed and retired with the City of Marietta Parks and Recreation as a Maintenance Supervisor. After his retirement , Bobby went back to work for Henderson Arms Apartments, and retired for the second time after a total of 35 plus years in the work force.

Bobby met the queen of his dreams and on July 14, 1957, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mazelle Lorene Mullins Hill. They were blessed with a lovely two-year-old daughter; Shelia Evette Cox Lindley whom they raised as their own. She brought so much love and joy to their lives. Shelia was their pride and joy!

Early in life he surrendered his life to Christ and started his faith journey. He joined Zion Hill Baptist Church , under the leadership of the late Reverend James Montford. Bobby served diligently as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Teacher, and Youth Leader, inspiring the youth  as they grew in the church.

The Legendary Lindley Gospel Singers including Bobby Lindley, were known all over the United States. For 25 years plus, they travelled, singing praises unto God.

Later in life Bobby was inspired to become a member of Providence Community Baptist Church, after experiencing a greater spiritual change under the leadership of Pastor Willie L. Scott. He attended Bible classes to enhance his walk with Christ. Bobby served as Chairman of the Deacons, member of the male chorus, PCBC choir and outreach community worker. He enjoyed driving the bus to pick up the children and bring them to Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Bible classes and just working in the church period.

He and Mazelle were role model for married couples. They counseled many couples and gave freely to countless families in need. Bobby was a very caring and thoughtful and generous person; that's just who he was!  He opened his doors to his home for others to have a place to stay until they were able to stand on their own. He always gave never wanted to receive. He loved gathering at the restaurant and demanding to pay the bill, LOL. A man of integrity and love. Everyone looked up to Brother Bobby and respected his walk with the Lord. He was a vessel and a soldier in the Army of the Lord. The Knox Lindley family was blessed beyond measure to have him as Our own! We will miss him tremendously.

Bobby received his wings and flew away on Friday, May 22, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Delia Lindley; siblings, Beverly "Sue" Rounds, William "Bill" Knox, Hollis "Bubba" Lindley, Rosco "Buster" Lindley, Carolyn "Penny" Walker, Jackie and Lamar Knox.

He leaves to cherish his memory, adopted daughterm Shelia Lavette (Darrell), six adopted grandchildren, Clarence "T Lee" Hill, Brian Hill, Shakeela Hill, Joshua Hill, Darius Hill and Christopher HIll; three adopted great grandchildren, Siyanah Wise, Jala Wise and  Destiny Hill; four brothers, William "Willie" Knox, Jerome  "Ricky" Knox, Gary Lindley and Randy "Radee" Lindley; three sisters, June Huiel, Patricia  "Ann" Shaw and Judy "Lynn" Knox; one sister in law, Hilda "Elnora" DeFurr.
