Rosalyn Marie Johnson Bailey was born on December 20, 1948 to Walter and Lorraine Johnson in Acworth, Georgia.
Rosalyn was educated in the Bartow County School System.
One day Leonard Bailey and his friend decided to take a ride from Emerson into the city of Acworth. Leonard laid his eyes on a beautiful young lady and said to his friend “I have to meet her.” There Leonard met the love of his life, Rosalyn Marie Johnson.
After meeting Rosalyn and dating for a period of time Leonard asked Rosalyn to be his wife for life, and on May 8, 1966 Leonard and Rosalyn were united in Holy Matrimony and to this union nine children were born.
She was a dedicated wife and mother. She was the “Chef” when someone was hungry, the “Doctor” when someone was sick, the “Comforter” when someone was hurt, the “Negotiator” in the midst of hard issues, and the “Peacemaker” when we were at odds.
Rosalyn was always able to fix just about anything that was wrong. She had the magic touch when it came to gardening and could make just about any vegetables grow. She always loved everyone and nothing could separate the love that she had for each of us. Her love extended to her friends as well as her family and everyone she came in contact with could feel the love that came from her heart.
Rosalyn is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lorraine Johnson; three children, William, Alexander, and Walter Bailey; grandmother, Lilly Mae Echols; one brother, Carey Johnson; and her sister, Peggy Slocum.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory; her husband of fifty-six years, Leonard Marlow Bailey; children, Leonard Van, Rosalyn G. , Audrey, Otis (Jennifer), Willis (Mali) , and Chris; six grandchildren, Khaleelah, Willis Jr., Leander, Jaleel, Omari, and Jordan to continue her legacy; sisters, Marilyn Callahan(E.L.), Candis Johnson, Carolyn Johnson( Lamar),and Victoria Kellogg (Claude); brother, Robert (Bobby)Johnson ( Maryann); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
