Mrs. Ruby Jean Jones, 81 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held o Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 12:00PM (Noon) at The Church at Liberty Square, 2001 Liberty Square Drive NE, Cartersville, Georgia 30121. The body will lie in state the church from 11:00AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Lane NE, Canton, Georgia 30114. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 6:00PM- 7:00PM at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
In the early morning of Thursday, May 2, 2024, Ruby Jones slipped into eternal sleep. Her long years of suffering came to an end. Ruby was born April 8, 1943 to Anna Guthrie Edwards and King Edwards in Cartersville, Ga. She was educated in the Cartersville City School System under Professor James Stanley Morgan Sr,. Ruby married her childhood sweetheart David L. Jones on June 2, 1965. She was a member of the Church at Liberty Square. Her jobs included Cartersville Spinning, Nantucket and Mudd Jeans Company where she retired after many years of service.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, David L. Jones; daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Austin; parents, Anna and King Edwards; siblings, Dora Dean Patterson, Annie Ruth Moore, Minnie Montgomery Dyer, Mattie Lou Peeks, Margretta Linley, Anna King Edwards, Fannie Bryant, Pearline Scott, Dorothy Brown, J.W. Edwards, Hillmus Edwards, Mary & Martha Edwards.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories god daughters, Tyranie (Henry) Smith, Shamia Perkinson; niece/sister, Allene (Larry) Henderson; nieces, Diane (Jerome) Hall, Addie Pearl (Eddie) Lynn, Jacqueline Darby and Trice Hammond all also her Caregivers; two sisters-in- law, Ernestine Young Jones and Frankie (Chester) Forsh; three brothers-in-law, Terry Jones Sr., Anthony (Tony) Jones and Shawn (Alma) Jones; three special nephews, James Peeks, T.J. Bryant and Anthony Linley; Very special little Best friend, Kacen “Stinka” Heard. And a host of nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly.
