Ruby Jean (Langston) Langston

Ms. Ruby Jean Langston, 53 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2022 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 12:00PM (Noon) at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Ruby Jean Langston was the sixth child born to Catherine and Freddie Langston on December 29, 1968 in Calhoun, Georgia. She was educated in the Cartersville School System graduating with the Cartersville High School Class of 1988.

After graduation Ruby better known as “Lil Red” began her career as a workingwoman as she would say, “I work now”. She was employed by USG, where she played on their Softball team; 4-Way Restaurant; Wendy’s; Costco; and last but not least Mannington Carpets.

Ruby was devoted to the Lord, her family and friends. She loved to cook and her favorite dish was her chicken and broccoli casserole. She loved listening to music and spending time with her family whenever she could. In her pastime Ruby loved to take pictures (selfies) of her self and with her friends. Yes you can say the camera was always with her. Ruby never left you without saying “I Love You”, that was her way of letting you know that you were special to her and in her heart she had love for you.

She will be missed and the trademark “Red Lipstick “ that she wore brightened up her smile each and every time.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents: grandmother, Christine Davis: and brother, Thomas Langston.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Michael and Mykiah Horton; sisters, Burley Mae Freeman and Sarah Gamble (Reginald); brothers, Freddie Langston (Angie), Jimmy Langston (Dana), and Martin Langston (Renada) all of Cartersville, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
