Obituary

Mr. Rufus Lee Glover, Sr., 63, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00AM at Church at Liberty Square, 2001 Liberty Square Drive NE, Cartersville, GA 30121.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be admitted to the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted.

Rufus Lee Glover, Sr. was born January 5, 1959, in Miami, Florida to Irene Smith and Lawrence Glover. He attended Goulds Elementary, Mays High and South Dade High School. Upon graduating , he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 13 years. While stationed in Hawaii, Rufus met Annette Aitu, who he would later marry. During their 31 years of marriage they were blessed with five children ( their oldest son Rufus Jr. preceded him in death).

After settling his family in Cartersville, Georgia he found employment at Shaw Industries and was a faithful employee there for 23 years, until he became ill. Rufus had the ability to make people laugh. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved to dance, sing and just have a good time.

Left to cherish his memories; wife, Annette Glover; children, Steven Glover, Demont Glover, Latonya Glover, Shanta Jackson, Rashanda Glover, Devonte Glover, Irene Glover, and Krystal Glover; ten grandchildren; four sisters, Daisy Johnson (Horace), Carrie Solomon (Joseph), Mildred Wilborn (Gary), Joanna Lane (Ronnie); two brothers, Rashad Abdullah, Lawson Ackies (Dena); one aunt, Mary Middleton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
