On Monday, May 5, 2025 Sean Lamont Mathis transitioned from his earthly family at Emory Hillandale Hospital to his heavenly home, surrounded by "guardian angels", Chanda Allen and Meyundai Goolsby. Sean was born on January 25, 1968 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Linda Elaine Barnswell and the late Randolph Mathis. He was educated in the Cartersville City School System and proudly graduated from Cartersville High School in the Class of 1987.

From a young age, Sean developed a deep passion for music. He began his journey as a Rap Artist, forming a dance crew and a group called World Class Entertainment with his cousins and friends. Together they travelled and performed in numerous shows. After graduation, many members pursued different paths but Sean continued chasing his musical dreams. He partnered with his cousin Howard Patterson to form the dynamic duo Blajic Potion, achieving success with live performances and even charting a song. Their musical path led them to join the late Jonathan Whitfield  and Lucious Dennis forming "3 of a Kind" under the Wild Card Family of EPI Records.

In November 1996, Sean married Alice Knox, through this union they blended their families and shared a home filled with love, five children, and two loyal dogs. Though they later divorced in 2001, Sean and Alice remained close friends. Sean was employed at Auto Money Title Pawn, where his co-workers became an extension of his family.

A man of faith, Sean was a member of  Alexander Chapel United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Rodney B. Weaver. He deeply loved the Lord, his music, his friends, and above all his family. Known for his vibrant personality, Sean was truly the life of the party and found joy in every moment. For the past four years, Sean shared his life with his devoted girlfriend, Monique Gee. He was a beloved son, father, brother and friend.

Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Elaine Barnswell; father, Randolph Mathis; his grandmothers, Mary Hall and Anna King Edwards; his aunt, Virginia Goodson; and one of his best friends, Jonathan Whitfield.

Sean leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Ansley Summerour, Sydney Mathis, Adrian Mathis, Jalynne Mathis and Courtney Mathis; his godparents, Larry and Allene Henderson; his favorite aunt, Sandra Garnigan ; and his bonus mother, Patricia Perkinson; his siblings, LaWonder McDowell, Randale Mathis, Robbie Cochran, Tiffany (Andre) Ward, Melissa Miller and Brandy (Devin) Henderson; special friends, Howard Patterson, William "Tookie" Bryant, DeWayne Edwards, Kraike Williams and Tim Winters; and a host of beloved family and friends who will continue to celebrate his life and legacy.
