Mrs. Shirley Ann Shaw, 87, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Memory Gardens, 790 Indian Mound Road SE, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. She will lie in-state in the Mausoleum from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Shirley Ann Touchstone Shaw of Cartersville, Georgia was born January 6, 1935. She was the fourth child born to the union of Preston and Anena Copeland Touchstone. She joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her passing. Mt. Zion was faithful to her also; they never failed to bring communion to the nursing home. Shirley graduated from Summer Hill High and furthered her education at Spelman College. Shirley met Earl Shaw, while he was on leave from the Military; they were united in Holy Matrimony and they moved to Washington DC and from there to Milwaukee Wisconsin. Later in life Shirley returned to Cartersville and accepted a job with Cartersville Medical, where she retired after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Anena Touchstone; her children, Tammy Shaw and Byron Shaw; siblings, Arthur Touchstone, Ida Patterson, and William Harold Touchstone. Left to cherish her loving memory, Angela (William) Mentz, Venetia ( Michael) Flowers, and Cheryl Shaw; grand children, Scott Shaw, Anthony ( Margarita) Flowers, Steven Walker, Anena (Sam) Rudnicki, Sarah Shaw, Nicholas (Daijah) Flowers, Erica Elliott Sims; seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
