Shirley Ann Winters Goodson, 79 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.
Shirley Ann Goodson passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Heaven gained an angel that rejoiced in going home to her Heavenly Father.
Shirley was born on June 5, 1945 in Sonoraville, Georgia to the late Arnold Dee Curtis, Sr. and Eva Jean Fisher. She was educated in the Gordon County School System.
She loved life and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Whenever there was company over, she cooked, and they were guaranteed a plate at the table and a good meal.
Shirley loved the Lord and praised Him everyday for the blessings that He provided for her family and friends.
For years she worked at Cartersville Spinning as a Spinning Frame operator for over twenty years before retiring. After retiring Shirley spent most of her time shopping and spending time with her grandkids and family.
She was a baptized member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cartersville, Georgia where she served faithfully until her health began to decline.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Charlotte Sims and Kay Frances Curtis; brother, Arnold Dee Curtis, Jr.; and granddaughter, Ciontoria Winters.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Robert Lee Goodson; children, Jefferey (Shawn) Robbs, Timothy (Princess) Winters, Pamela Maxwell (Ira Wilson), Chad Winters and Kimberly Winters; sisters, Anita Curtis of Sonoraville, Georgia and Sebrena Curtis of Calhoun, Georgia; brothers, Henry (Brenda) Curtis of Houston, Texas, Tony (Mimi) Curtis of Detroit, Michigan and Shaun Curtis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
