Shuree Nekole Ali, age 40, was born in Cartersville, Georgia, on September 9, 1985, to Laverne Jewell and Franklin Johnson. From the very beginning, she brought joy, light, and a vibrant spirit into the lives of everyone around her. Her childhood in Cartersville shaped her into the loving, compassionate, and determined woman she would become. On Thursday, January 22, 2026, Shuree was called home to be with the Lord. Though her time on earth ended far too soon, her faith, her kindness, and the love she shared with so many will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. She began her education in the Bartow County School System before transitioning to the Cartersville City School System, where she graduated from Cartersville High School in 2005. Throughout her school years, Shuree embraced many activities, especially those that allowed her to express her love for reading, writing, and—most of all—sports. She excelled in Track & Field, earning multiple awards and recognition for her dedication and talent. Her passion for athletics continued into adulthood, particularly through her love of football. Shuree was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints and proudly cheered them on every season. After high school, Shuree attended Georgia Highlands College with aspirations of becoming a teacher. Her love for children was unmistakable, and she found joy in being surrounded by them. Her deep faith was also a guiding force in her life. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Rydal, Georgia, where her love for God and her community shone brightly. Shuree was known for her beautiful smile, kind heart, and remarkable ability to make anyone feel welcome. She truly never met a stranger. Her generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping others made her a beloved presence in every space she entered. Although she will be dearly missed, Shuree’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Shuree was united in Holy Matrimony to Herman Ali, and she was the proud mother of Sariah and Sanaa Jones  all of Cartersville, Georgia. Shuree is preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Irene Jewell and Frank and Flora Johnson; her father-in-law, Harold Wise; her stepmother, Virginia Johnson; her brother- and sister-in-law, Tony Stephens, Sr. and Delores Mayse; and her aunts and uncles Lassie Jewell, Wallace Jewell, Jimmy (Lorraine) Brent, Walter “Pete” (Faye) Jewell, and William Jewell. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Herman Ali; her children, Sariah Jones, and Sanaa Jones; her loving parents, Laverne Jewell and Frank Johnson; her mother—in-law, Carrie Stephens: and her siblings, Shukee Johnson and Frankie (Vickie) Johnson. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, Kevin Stephens; her nieces and nephews— Kasia, KJ, Kanavia, Jalen, Zamona, Makenlie, and Lashaunda; her special aunts, Lillie Jewell and Lesa Slocum; her special cousins, Jada Navarrate, Sabrina Bennett, Reginald Heard, and Thomas Jewell; and her dear friends, Jamie Garrod and Deja Heard. In addition, she is survived by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and loved ones who will forever hold her close in their heart
