Susan Teague Wiley, 68 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00AM until the hour of service. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 6:00PM - 7:00PM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
In loving memory of Susan Diane Teague Wiley, who peacefully earned her wings on Dec 12, 2023, surrounded by her family after a courageous journey in the hospital. Affectionately known as "NeNe" by her grandchildren and community. Devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Susan was a child of God whose smile could brighten any room. With over 40 years dedicated to teaching music in her home and various schools, she touched the lives of many with her passion and natural talent of music.
Beyond her musical endeavors, Susan established a warm and nurturing home daycare, creating a haven for those she cares for. She was deeply committed to the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA, activity participating in the women's ministry and serving as a pianist, leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Susan's kindness, warmth, and contribution to her community will be remembered and cherished forever.
Educated in the Johnson City school system in Tennessee, Susan attended Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University. She earned a certificate from Barnell College in nursing. Her love for reading, singing, playing the piano, and enjoying moments with family defined her joyful spirit. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and relished meals out and coffee dates with dear friends.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, C Reece Teague and Helen Teague. She leaves behind cherished memories for her daughter, Melissa Hardie (Anthony), granddaughters Marissa Metcalf (Ayrianna) and Cara Jordan, sister Debbie Jeffries (Bill), nieces Ashely Peterson, Aubrey Madison (Brandon), and Scott Barclay (Casey) and a host of relatives and friends.
