Terry Wayne Hughes

Mr. Terry Wayne Hughes, 52 of Smyrna, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12:00PM (Noon) at Willie Watkins Funeral Home Chapel, 8312 Dallas Hwy, Douglasville, GA 30134.  The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy SE, Mableton, GA 30126. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. 

Mr. Terry Wayne Hughes was born October 11, 1969, in Louisville Mississippi to the late Joe Ben Hughes and Mary Louis Hughes. Affectionately known as “Ninnie Pooh” to his
friends and family, was called home on Saturday at his home November 27, 2021.
Pooh attended Louisville High School where he played football ran track, baseball, and basketball. His favorite was softball, and he treated it lake a business. Nothing got buy him when it came to that baseball diamond. Throughout the years he played with the Marietta Expos where HE SHINED EVERY GAME , Fab 40, he finished the 2021 season as MVP, and Mississippi Blues 5-0. Pooh played his last tournament in Columbus, Ga. June 2021 where he played one hell of a tournament.
He met and married Joyce Conley Hughes and shared 23 years of marriage.
Those waiting to re-unite with Ninnie Pooh are, his parents, one sister, Maggie and one brother Sam; four children, Caprisha (Tay), Anquanette, LaQuintion and Travon.; six grandchildren, VJ, Zay, Kiyan,Jaylen,Daxton and Starlene; two sisters and three brothers Cassandra Hughes and LaShonda Johnson (Vince), Roderick Hughes, Karo Hughes and Dexter Perry; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Charlene Conley, Clara Wright(Malvin), John Conley (Barbara) Van Conley. Two very SPECIAL AUNTS Bessie Tripplett and Yvonne Tripplett and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends.
