Terry Tyrone Robinson was the eighth child born to the late Hardy and Katie Pearl Rogers Robinson on June 14, 1963.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Katie and Hardy Robinson, and three brothers: Walter Rogers, Roy C. Rogers, and Willie C. Rogers.
Educated in the Cartersville School System, Terry graduated with the Cartersville High School class of 1982. As a loyal Cartersville Purple Hurricanes football player, he proudly wore #62 as a linebacker. He gave his all on the field and left a lasting mark on his teammates. In the 1981-1982 season, his hard work and dedication earned him the Most Valuable Defensive Player Award and the prestigious Kenny Looney Memorial Award, solidifying his place as a force in the game.
For over 40 years, Terry was a well-known and cherished employee at Tacos N Subs, where he not only worked but also built lasting relationships with countless people in the community. Whether through his welcoming smile, hardworking nature, or words of wisdom, he made an impact on everyone he met. During his time there, he formed a special bond with Broderick Lumpkin, creating a friendship that meant so much to him.
Terry’s infectious laugh could be heard from a mile away, and his sense of humor kept everyone on their toes. Whether cruising around town on his bike or moonwalking into a party, he was always ready to bring the fun. A die-hard Michael Jackson fan, he never showed up without his signature MJ glove and hat—always ready to bust a move and steal the spotlight!
His memory will be carried on by his loving and devoted partner, Jacqueline Durham, who stood by his side for over 40 years; his siblings: Lois Jones Croddock, Larry J. (Angel) Rogers, Michael (Brandee) Rogers, Harvey (Astrid) Robinson, and Elaine Rogers; his children: Tiffany (Hammon) Lightning, Marquetta (Corey) Brown, Devin Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Terrick Robinson, and his bonus daughter, LaQueta Durham. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, a great-grandson, nieces, and nephews.
We will continue to celebrate Terry’s life by treasuring the precious memories he left behind—a testament to his love, laughter, and the lasting imprint he made on our hearts.
