Timothy Perkinson Obituary

Mr. Timothy Perkinson, 55 of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 12:00P.M. (Noon) at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 11:00A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Bartow Emerson Cemetery, Emerson, Georgia 30137.Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

Timothy was born March 29, 1967 in Cartersville, Georgia to Barbara Ann Perkinson and Herbert Perkinson Jr. He was educated in the Bartow County School System graduating from Cass High School. Timothy joined Damascus Baptist Church at an early age. He was loving, kind and had a heart of gold. He was fun to be around and was always making you laugh.

Chumley Paving Company employed him and all the guys knew him as “Swanson”.

Timothy loved his mother and one of his sayings to her was;“ Momma you are nosey”.  He always had a thankful heart when it came to his mother. He appreciated everything that she did for him and he always thanked her.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mae Rose Blalock (Clyde), Eula Mae and Herbert Perkinson,Sr.; and one brother, Herbert L. Perkinson III.

Timothy leaves to cherish his loving memory; his loving mother, Barbara Ann Perkinson; father, Herbert L. (Lenora) Perkinson, Jr.; children, Deonte (Robin) Dodd, Kalab Perkinson, Ayana Echols, Jayda Heard and Elijah Neal; six grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Penelope) Linley, and Michael (Sandra) Linley; two sisters, Herberline Tyler and Tabitha Dumas; two special great nephews, Josiah and Michael Jr. (Mike Mike); a special nephew, Elisha Linley, who helped him a lot; a special friend, Cassandra Jackson and her son Javon. Timothy also leaves, Horace, Dexter, Kim, Jaretta and Rita as they were raised as brothers and sisters. Dexter and Tim spoke everyday, up until his last stroke. He loved his Kentucky family, Cathy and Leroy III as they were also raised as brothers and sisters along with their parents; Moma Jeannie and Leroy Byrd II. His Aunt Linda Ann was his heart and Asia Wilkins was very special to him; they always looked after Tim and loved him. There was nothing that they wouldn’t do for him; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
