On Friday, July 18, 2025, the Lord called home His faithful servant and beloved prayer warrior, Sister Tracy Yvonne Randolph.
Tracy Yvonne Randolph was born on November 13, in 1963 Marietta, Georgia, to the late James Carver and Joyce Houston Randolph. She was the only daughter among four children and the cherished sister of Alvin Nathan Houston, Jeffery Denard Randolph, and the late Kevin Levone Randolph. Tracy was educated in the Cobb County School District, attending Acworth Elementary, Awtrey Middle School, and North Cobb High School. Throughout her youth, she was active in school sports such as basketball and many other extracurricular activities, where she built lifelong friendships and a reputation for kindness and a strong spirit.
On August 22, 1985 God gifted Tracy with her most treasured blessing—her beloved son, Darron Laron Johnson. Their bond was unshakable and filled with joy, love, and shared admiration. Anyone who encountered them together witnessed the purest form of a mother’s love.
Tracy had a lifelong passion for nurturing children. She devoted her career to the childcare industry, delighting in the growth and development of every child in her care. Her professional roles included employment as a teacher at Jacob’s Ladder and Noah’s Ark; But her heart for children extended far beyond her workplace. She became known in the community as a trusted and compassionate caregiver, opening her home to families in need, often at little or no cost, so parents could work with peace of mind. Tracy’s loving spirit made her more than just an aunt—she was a mother figure to her nephews and countless children throughout her life.
A woman of immeasurable talents, Sister Tracy was a gifted cook, caretaker, hairstylist, and mentor. Known affectionately as the "Community Auntie Tracy, Ms. Tracy or Nene," her home was a haven where love, laughter, and warm meals—especially her cookies—were always abundant. Whether braiding a child’s hair or offering wise words over the phone, Tracy gave of herself generously, and with grace.
Tracy was a true Proverbs 31 woman: strong, compassionate, faithful, and humble. She served her family, church, and community with untiring dedication. At church, an active member of the praise team, choir, and a powerful soloist. Her voice lifted spirits and glorified God. She served wherever there was a need—ushering, kitchen ministry, prayer team, cleaning—always saying “yes” with a willing heart. She was a faithful member of the Greater Atlanta Christian Cursillo Movement servicing others as God called her and was a vital and inspiring part of the Girl Trek Prayer Group.
She was the matriarch of her family, holding generations together with love, wisdom, and faith. Tracy adored her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Her heart and home overflowed with joy, faith, and unconditional love.
One of her favorite songs to sing was “Lord, I Need You to Hold My Hand.” And while we grieve her physical absence, we rejoice in knowing she is now resting in the arms of her Savior—hearing the words, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, James Carver and Joyce Houston Randolph, and her brother, Kevin Levone Randolph.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her devoted son, Darron Laron Johnson (LaShante’); Her beloved grandchildren, Aaron, Aliyah, Amaya, and Aidan Johnson; Her brothers, Alvin Nathan Houston and Jeffery Denard Randolph; Her God-daughter Shavonda Pennymon; Sister-Cousin Minister Deborah Bennett; Little Sister-Cousin Allison Chapman (Ro); Like-Daughter Cousin Timetra Houston; and her adopted family; Nieces and Nephews and a host of extended family, church family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Tracy lived a life poured out—a life of service, faith, and abundant love. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will forever be a treasured gift. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and eternally celebrated.
