True Gamble Obituary

True Helen Gamble, 74 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 26 Shiloh Church Road, Taylorsville, Georgia 30178. The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service. Interment will follow on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.  Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through his time of bereavement. 

True Helen Dodson Gamble quietly departed this life on December25, 2024 at Harbor View Nursing Home in  Rome, Georgia. True was born in Bartow County, Georgia to Jack and Lillie Lavette Dodson on January 10, 1950. She attended Bartow County Elementary School in Cassville, Georgia and graduated in 1969 from Cass High School. True had a beautiful voice and she enjoyed singing for anyone , especially her sisters. Her love for singing led her to Berry College, after high school, majoring in Voice. She attended Berry for a while, and later started a working career, first at E-Z Mills, The Bartow Training Center and Battle's Grocery Store, all in Cartersville, Georgia.

True grew up in Shiloh Baptist Church in Stilesboro, and also attended True Light Tabernacle in Cartersville. True was a very intelligent woman. She was adept in many areas like sewing, cooking, and even working on cars. Her favorite pastime and hobby was putting together jigsaw puzzles.

True was fun-loving and caring. She loved her family, and enjoyed talking about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an exceptional wife and mother, and a true friend as her name aptly states.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lillie Dodson; her husband, Paul Edward gamble, Sr., son, Charles Gamble, Sr., and grandson, Charles Gamble, Jr.; as well as her siblings, Ethel Henderson, Alberta Weems, William Dodson and Lillie Pritchett.

True leaves behind to cherish her memory, a loving son, Paul Edward Gamble, Jr., grandchildren, Chelsey Greene (Justin), Olivia , Jazmyn, Destiny, Lauren, Avery, Paul III, Parnell and Preston; and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude (Morris) Pennyman, Nell (Robert) Benham and Rita (William) Griffin; brothers, Norris (Ruby) Dodson and Minister Bobby (Irma) Dodson; several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with special friends, Marian Canty, Lavon Ward, Bonnette McClendon and Reverend Gordon Wells.
