Mr. Tyrone Echols, 65, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Cartersville Medical Center. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 2:00PM at Pine Ridge Cemetery/Winkenhofer, 2950 Cobb Pkwy N., Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
Tyrone Lewis Echols was born on May 24, 1955, in Marietta, Georgia. He was the first child born to the late James Johnson Echols and Georgia Ann Blalock Echols. He was educated in the Cobb County School System, and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1973. He furthered his education at Fort Valley State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. While attending Fort Valley he joined the Esquire Fraternity.
After graduating he married the love of his life Barbara Elaine Moore. To this union three children were born. Tyrone was a spiritual man and he loved God. Tyrone was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He later joined Destiny Metropolitan Non-Denominational Church, Marietta, Georgia where he served on the Parking Ministry and the Habitat Humane Ministry. Tyrone was the owner of Shiloh Construction Company Incorporated, which he established in 1995. When his health started to decline he passed the business on to his loving son, Terry Echols.
Tyrone was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always wanted to make sure that his family and friends knew that he loved them. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family; attending sporting events or watching sports on television. He enjoyed football, basketball and tennis.
People often spoke of how Tyrone changed their lives spiritually and emotionally and how he brought comfort to them in their times of trouble. He was a very motivational and inspirational person, and helped anyone in need.
His father, James Johnson Echols, precedes him in death.
Tyrone leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Barbara Elaine Echols; son, Terrance Echols; daughters, Sequoyah Knight and Alandra Echols; five grandchildren, Damarcus, Jala, Jacolby, Mandel and Adun; his mother, Georgia Echols; siblings, Charlotte Echols, Irving Echols, Neal (Cynthia) Echols, Audrey Moss and James (Bessie) Furr; mother-in-law, Emma Jean Kennedy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Danny (Fannie) Linley, Ernestine Tanner, Donna Linley, Roy (Lynette) Fowler, Charmion (Dwight) Hill, and Jason (Jandea) Fowler; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
