Virginia Gail (Hall) Goodson

Virginia Gail Goodson, 69 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Piedmont Healthcare Cartersville surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday,  January 14, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.

Virginia Gail Hall Goodson was born on June 6, 1955 in Cartersville,Georgia to the late Mary Cash and Robert Hall. She was educated in the Bartow County School System.

She spent her life in Cartersville and created a loving home. She was a devoted wife to Bobby Lee Goodson. Virginia cherished her family and her friendships. She always welcomed those in need into her home and shared with them what she had.

Virginia was affectionately known as “Screw” to her family and friends. She received her nickname, because when she was born it was said, “She was as small as a screw”. She enjoyed watching movies, particularly Walker, Texas Ranger and Wrestling. Which she loved discussing after watching her shows. Family gatherings were the highlight of her life.

Virginia was very close to her sister Sandra Garnigan , they talked all the time. She lived by her motto “see you later”, she never said “goodbye”. Her favorite music was embodied in her admiration for Whitney Houston. She found joy in simple pleasures, often indulging in her favorite meal from Burger King.

A proud mother of four children, Jason Goodson, Jamie Hall (Elton Cochran), Ashley Goodson and Alisha Goodson (Courtney Gamble). Virginia heart expanded to twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Reflection on her optimistic spirit and deep connections to those around her. Her proudest accomplishments included , her role as a nurturing mother and grandmother. Leaving a legacy of love and kindness, that will be remembered by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Linda Barnwell.

She leaves her family and a host of other relatives and friends.
