Walter Eugene Houston

Walter Eugene Houston, 46 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 unexpectedly at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 1:00P.M. at Unity Worship Church, 214 Nelson Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.The body will lie in state in the church from 12:00P.M. (Noon) until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Acworth, Georgia . Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement.

On Monday, July 31, 2023, God called Walter home for eternal rest. Walter Eugene Houston was born on January 26 , 1977 in Marietta, Georgia to Geraldine Houston and the late Richard E. Houston. Walter received his education within the Bartow County School District. He furthered his knowledge, receiving certification as an electrician.

At an early age, Walter joined Glory Harvester Church, outwardly expressing his belief that God is greater than He could ever be by choosing to be baptized by the late Robert L. “Jackie” Beavers.  

Walter enjoyed classic cars, cooking, baking, and sports-- specifically football and wrestling. His sons carried out his passion for football and wrestling, surpassing their father, which brought him much joy to witness.  Walter also had a great love for dogs, which lead him to breeding. Walter loved people and his love was evident in the smile he wore.  His laughter was contagious, causing joy in all that he came in contact with.

His father, sister, Paula Houston, and daughter, Destiny Houston, precede Walter in death.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory; his children, Jerica Trimble (Diterrious), DaNarian Dixon, Walter Richards, Olivia Houston, Richard Houston, and Faith Houston; his mother, Geraldine Houston; his granddaughter, Khalani Richards; his siblings, Richard Houston, James Houston (Drucilla), Tammy Cofield, Sonja Lingerfelt (Mark), David Houston (Chrissy), Adira Bailey (Stanley), and LaToya James (Taras); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
