William Carter Obituary

Mr. William Billy Carter, aka Billy Carter, aka "GOAT",  63, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery, 319 North Erwin Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. 

Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in place, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service. The family is the main concern during this time of bereavement and space will be limited. We have to ensure the family is able to attend the service, so there is a possibility of some friends not being admitted. However, the service will be LIVE- STREAMED.

William Billy (Goat) Carter was born on February 15, 1957 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Troy and Christine Carter. He was second to the youngest of six children. At an early age Billy attended St. Luke A.M.E. Church, he later joined Greater Mount Olive where he remained an active member until his death. Billy received his early education at Cloverleaf Elementary and graduated from Cass High School with the Class of 1976.

He was an excellent athlete, excelling n track, football and basketball. Billy was an avid sports lover. In his spare time you could always find him looking at the sports on television and following the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes. Billy was a very special kind-hearted person and he loved people. He was a loving father and devoted to his family and well loved and respected by all who had a chance to get to know him.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Christine ; brothers, Willie, Lawrence and Tony; sisters, Earnestine and Carolyn.

Billy leaves to cherish his loving memories; daughters, LaQueta and Michelle; five grandchildren, Quinterika, Kenjuan, Jalen and Katelyn Samples and Baby Quelaya; sister-in-law, Brenda Carson; nephews, Aaron and Greg; nieces, Gwen Tanner and Cynthia Carson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
