William Eugene McQueen, 79 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00A.M. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Jones Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:00A.M. until the hour of service. The service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
William Eugene McQueen, 79, of Cartersville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2023. William, affectionally known as “Genie Boy and Bill” was born in Aynor, South Carolina on March 21, 1944, to the late William Alec and Dessie Victoria McQueen. Besides spending time with his family and friends, William enjoyed cooking, fishing, watching football, and traveling. He had a passion for serving others in his community with his bright and energetic spirit.
He is preceded by siblings, Joseph Myles, Edward, Robert, Solomon, Charles, and Donald McQueen, and two sisters Bessie McQueen and Mary Davis.
William is survived by his devoted wife Rainey Belle McQueen; loving and dedicated children Angelina McQueen, Adrienne (Kent) Howard, William (Kelly) McQueen, and Aticha (Isaac) Jamison; loving grandchildren YaQueena McQueen, Michelle McQueen, Lea McQueen, Jessica McQueen, Kent Eugene Howard, and Isaac Ethan Jamison; a sister W. Cleo Williams; sisters-in-law Laura Myles, Peggy (Carl) Gouveia, Jannie Loncke, Sybil Ree (Ernest) Holmes and Charles Williams; one aunt Alma Reid and a host of nieces (hun), nephews (buddy) and great nieces and nephews; cousins, church family and friends.
William served as a Dedicated Deacon and in various other ministries at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Cartersville, Georgia. He touched many lives with his generosity and compassion for serving others. He will be missed.
