There are no words to adequately express my deep sorry. I knew and loved Riley for 47 years. We started our journey as Center Directors for NDO in 1970. We spent many hours traveling, talking and sharing laughter. Now she has taken a different path, but our paths will one day converge again. Praying for peace and strength for her family.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Riley. She was a great mentor to me when I was young and just starting a social services career. She was a very intelligent and caring woman of the highest integrity. She always treated staff and clients with respect and fairness. I am grateful for the opportunity to work for her. My heart is broken.

I am just stunned that our beloved Riley has left us. I have not had the opportunity to work with Riley in several years but I still remember our adventures and our work when I served with her at NDO. She was a champion. She made an impact on the area she served and on the Community Action World in the state and the nation. Her work legacy is one of note. Her personal legacy as a daughter, mother, and grandmother is her true "dash" in a life well lived. My thoughts, prayers and love are with her "Peko" and all her family and friends. I shall miss her even though since leaving NDO my contact has been limited.

I am so sorry for your loss, as well as the loss our NDO community has suffered. You have my deepest sympathy, but I hope that you can take comfort in knowing that Ms. Riley touched thousands of lives and had a positive impact on so many through her professional work. Although I have only worked with NDO and Ms. Riley for a few years, it has been a privilege to be a part of the organization that she guided for so many years.

Janice Riley was an inspiration to many of us in the Community Action World. In her own quiet and subtle way she was very effective as an NCAF Board member. I was privileged to serve with her for 16 years and I will miss her. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and all whose lives she touched.

Janice was my very special friend and fellow CAP Director. We served together on the NCAF Board for many years. We became good friends and shared many of our trials and victories together. She was so well respected in the CAP world and I know she will be missed by everyone. My sincere sympathy is extended to her family (who she spoke of frequently and fondly) and to all who had the privilege of knowing this very special woman. May she rest in eternal peace. 🙏🏼🙏🏼💕
