Mr. Kinney Eugene Clark, 58, of LaGrange, Georgia, formerly of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 1:00pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Cartersville, Georgia. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00pm (noon) until the hour of service. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

   Kinney was born on March 6, 1959 in Cartersville, Georgia to Marion Rogers and the late David Daniel Clark.

He was educated in the Bartow County School System and graduated from Cass High School in the class of 1977. Soon after graduation he served his country in the United States Army. Kinney retired as a Staff Sergeant after twenty years of service. During his time of service, he received several medals and ribbons. Of the one he received, he was most proud of the Southwest Asia service medal with three bronze service stars and his Kuwait Liberation medal.

   At an early age he joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Stilesboro, Georgia, after relocating to LaGrange Georgia, he attended Mt. Beulah Church.

   He met and married the love of his life Shella Gainor in 1977 and to this union two children were born.

   Kinney was an avid golfer, and to him nothing was like playing a challenging course, always trying to get that “hole in one” shot. He enjoyed coaching Little League football players and officiating high school games. Because of his love of sports, he became a member of the Georgia High School Association.

   He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 39 years, Shella Gainor Clark, children, Chianti Johnson (Bobby) of LaGrange, Georgia, Dedra Clark of LaGrange, Georgia, Chavior Clark(Belinda) of San Antonio Texas, Kinney Schech of Germany; a loving mother, Marion Clark of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren, Trevon and Daquan McLaughlin, Chavior Clark Jr., Kavior Clark, James Clark, Samara Clark, Janice Clark, Sydney Clark, Simone Clark, Ben Neureither, Desmond and Xavier Johnson; and a unique daughter Brikeya Benham; two very special cousins, Dana Ford and Kevin Rogers; a special childhood friend, William Gamble and military friend , Joseph Newton and a host of other relatives and friends.
