Ruby Mae (Cousins) Carson

Mrs. Ruby Mae Carson, 78, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 12:00pm (noon) at Cartersville Church of Christ, 1319 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Cartersville, GA 30120. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00am until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Ruby Mae was born in Cartersville, Georgia on April 18, 1938 to the late Corrine Dunson and Lipton Cousin. She was the fourth daughter of fourteen siblings. She was educated in the Bartow County School System.

Ruby Mae accepted Christ at an early age, and worked diligently in the vineyards for the Lord.

Her mission in life was to help get people saved. She enjoyed singing good old Gospel Hymns and sewing. She loved her family and worked hard to ensure they got a good education and would be able to take care of themselves.

She was united in holy matrimony to D.H.Carson on September 4, 1955 and to this union three children were born. In her early years, she worked as a housekeeper for the Dillinger and Champion families of Cartersville. Ruby also worked for several apparel companies including the Gove Factory and EZ Mills until retirement.

Ruby  leaves to cherish her memory ; daughters, Donna (James) Bass, Neva (Claude) Branch and Vanessa (Toppy) Lightning; step daughter, Allene (Larry) Henderson; sister, Blanche Brown; seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
