Geraldine Long (Long) Fields

Mrs. Geraldine Long Fields, 82, formerly of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Glory Harvester Church, 1988 Joe Frank Harris, Pkwy., Cartersville, GA. at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00(noon) until the hour of service. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm at the Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home.

Geraldine was born on July 12, 1934 to the late Silas and Katie Long in Bartow County, Georgia. She was educated in the Bartow County School System. At an early age while attending Macedonia Baptist Church she received Christ, at this time everyone knew that she was being called on by the Lord to spread His holy word. As Geraldine got older her love for the Lord grew stronger and she started studying to become an Evangelist. She joined New Hope Overcoming Church of God where she ministered to many.

Geraldine retired from Union Carbide after many years of service and started focusing on spreading the word of the Lord. Her favorite things to do were talk about God and work in her garden. Her favorite flower was a rose and her favorite song was “By the Grace of God I am Saved.”

She leaves to celebrate her life a loving husband of 65 plus years, John Willie Fields; daughters, Gloria Bryant (Terry), Regina McIntyre (Will), Laura Phillips (Chris); sons, Lamar Fields (Jeanette), Tommy Fields (Charlene), and Clifford Fields; brother, Willie D. Long; brother-in-law, Charlie Fields (Mary); sisters-in-law, Georgia Lee King and Frances Thomas; grandchildren, Sherry Fields (Hank), Tyrone Bryant (Carla), Stacey Bryant, Rachel Fields, Derrick Fields, Demetrius Johnson (Shavonne), Kevin Johnson (Lamonica), Latonio Fields (Davina), Lamisha Bryant, Latisha Bryant, Allen Johnson (Emily), Tommy Fields,Jr., Felica Fields, Lakeidra Davis (Antonio), Lakishia Russell, Jody Wayne Davies, Jr., Darnisha Pettaway (Paul), Kenyal Fields, Zariyah Davis, Johnny Fields, Chris Phillips, Jr., Jeremiah Fields, John Fields, Heaven Fields, Kayla Fields, Ajai Fields and Malachi Fields; fifty-nine great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
