Carey Allen Johnson

Mr. Carey Allen Johnson, 49, of Cartersville, Georgia, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, November 28, 2016. A Celebration of Carey's Life will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00pm at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 N. Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. Interment will immediately follow in Pineridge Memorial Park, 2950 Cobb Parkway North, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.

Carey Allen Johnson was born on September 28, 1967 to Walter Lee Johnson and the late Mary Lorraine Johnson in Marietta, Georgia. He was educated in the Cobb County School System  and graduated from North Cobb High School.

Carey was a joyful spirit. His sense of humor was larger than life and he was known for his jokes, pranks and funny antics. Carey was also known for his abounding love for his family and friends. Carey would do anything for anyone. Wherever he saw a need, he did his best to fulfill it. He was employed by Cobb County Government for 28 years. He put his heart into his job every day as a Program Coordinator for the Meals on Wheels Program. His clients and co-workers adored him.

On June 27, 1992, Carey was united in marriage to his best friend and confidant, Kathy Lester of Marietta, Georgia, they enjoyed 24 years of love, marital joy and authentic friendship.

Carey leaves to cherish his amazing life and laughter, his loving wife,  Kathy L. Johnson; father, Walter Lee Johnson; sisters, Rosalyn Bailey ( Marlow), Peggy Slocum, Marilyn Callahan ( E.L.), Carolyn Johnson (Lamar), Victoria Kellogg (Claude),and  Candis Johnson; brother, Robert (Bobby) Johnson (Maryann) and a host of nieces, nephews,  other relatives and friends.
