When I learned of Carla's passing I was so hurt and deeply sadden. I am ashamed to say that I didn't even know she was sick, nor did I know her illness was due to such an insidious disease as cancer.
Her death has made me think about my own mortality as well as those I love, and how each day that we are given on this earth is by God's grace. It has made me realize the importance of friendship, and that no man is an island. Even though we say (very loosely), how short life is, do we really and truly know?
Carla I didn't get to tell you how special you were, and how proud I was to say that you were my cousin. However, one day I will be able to tell you all those things, because I'm striving to get where you are. Heaven!

Im so sorry for the loss of Carla, a beautiful woman. I met Carla when my dad was having Chemo and so was she. And, she always looked gorgeous! I then continued to run int o Carla at the gym where our sons would play ball against each other, and she always carried a beautiful smile....
I know her smile continues on in Heaven.

To the Brown-Carter families, Carla was a beautiful person. I can remember the many days we practiced and performed together at Savannah State. We can all look at her now and say "WELL DONE". She is in a much better place and I know she is looking down on all of us smiling. Love you always Carla and I can't wait to see you at home.

To Carla's family and dearest friend Carmella, I know that God will send you His Comforter whenever you need. Not only on today but those days when you recall a special memory or go by a special place or that smile of hers touches your heart. Her pain is over. The road ahead for each of you will long. The blessing of time will turn your tears into smiles as you remember her. There will never be anyone like her. She was a dear friend of mine that I met at SSC. She was a blessing to my life. Although we didn't keep in touch as I would have liked, she always reached out just to check on. My heart goes out to each of you. Take care of each other.

It saddens my heart to lose another relative to the disease of cancer. I know that Carla is in Heaven having the best time that she could possibly have with our Savior, Jesus Christ. So, I just want to encourage you (the immediate family) Know that our Carla is okay, and that what we see now here is just the shell that her spirit was in, she is already with Jesus. I love you guys and wish I could be there with you at this time.
