Welcome to the memorial page for

Mrs. Arlene Antoinette (Lawrence) Thompson

March 6, 1966 ~ July 31, 2016 (age 50) 50 Years Old

Mrs. Arlene Antoinette Thompson, 50, of Canton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 232 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188.

Arlene was born on March 6, 1966 in Kingston, Jamaica to Arthur and Zeppora Lawrence.  She was educated in the Jamaica School System.  Arlene attended St. George’s Primary School and later attended Merl Grove High School.

Arlene’s family relocated to New York where she attended John Bowne High School in Flushing, NY and graduated with the Class of 1984. After graduating she attended Katharine Gibbs Business School, New York, NY, after attending this school she was more enthused to further her education and attended SUNY State College, Utica, NY where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

After graduating college Arlene moved to Georgia to begin her new life and career. She married the love of her life Richard Thompson. To this union two children were born, Jonathan and Cianna.

Arlene became employed in various walks of life. She used her business management skills and obtained a job with Aetna US Healthcare as a Case Management Specialist. She loved her job and worked for 11 years in this health field. As her health began to fail she had to leave her job and settle down and just do the things she loved best. Her favorite pastime was doing arts & crafts and decorating for her family and friends. Being with her family was the most important thing to her and she always let them know how much she cared and loved them.

Arlene was the “Joker” in the family; she was always the “life of the party”. Her smile was one that could be seen from way across the room. Heaven has truly received an Angel!

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Thompson Education Fund at: http://gofundme.com/2hqhsw4 in the name of Jonathan and Cianna Thompson.
